Thriller Editing Day 2

Today was the deadline for our films!! When i came in at lunch the media rooms were packed out and everyone looked stressed as there was only 2 and a half hours left to edit!
My group were no were to be seen but when i spoke to Annie i discovered that Efosa had come in on thursday and made a soundtrack we could use however it was unfinished.
So when i came back from lunch it was still very hectic in the media department however it was quite calm in my group because we were positive about finishing which was good because rushed work isn't very good!
We listened to Efosa's soundtrack and we thought it was really good but could use a few extra bits, so as a group we added a few things into it and then were happy with it!
Now all that was left was to add in the soundtrack and then the credits which we were able to do pretty quickly! We pretty much managed to stick to the 3pm deadline for all media students even though my class had till 4.30pm because it was our 3 hour lesson.
I was relieved when it was finished and was really happy with our finished piece as it had a good range of shots and it all fitted in nicely!
Apart from a few little hick-ups over the weeks i think our group worked well together and we got on with the task well and i'm very pleased with how our work has turned out....... Hopefully the audience will like it when it comes to veiwing it in the cinema and more importantly i hope it gets us good marks!

Thriller Editing Day 1

Today was a really good editing day. When i came in my group showed me what they edited when i wasn't there. I was really impressed at what they'd got done and the footage and the editing cuts were really impressive, which made me quite proud! In the lesson we finished editing the film and the ending which was good that we have got that done as most of the other groups havent and the deadline is friday! We began to look at the soundtrack but we was just looking at what different sounds we might be able to use. Me and Annie decided to go and start to do the credits that we can put in on friday.
Hopefully we will be able to finish by friday which i'm sure we will because we are going to meet earlier before the lesson on friday!

Thriller Filming Day 5

Sadly i was unable to come in this day in half term as i had a funeral. I did feel bad on my group, however i spoke to them and they understood and agreed to do it without me.
When i spoke to them about it, they told me they thought the day went well as they were able to finish the filming and start some of the editing. Obviously in the next lesson i will have to do a lot of the work to make up for the time i missed.

Thriller Filming Day 4

This was our short lesson of the week, so we didnt have much time and what made it worse was that after we checked over our errors last week, we didnt make a note of them so Efosa had to go upstairs and check what we had to re-film again. We were hoping to re-film the bad shots aswell as the last two scenes today and get it all out of the way, however we did not end up doing the last scenes as we didnt have time and have not yet decided what they are actually going to be. We have a few ideas that we havent decided on yet but i think we are just going to experiment when we begin filming next lesson. We need to get the last scenes film so that we can get on with the editing!! As our time for filming is limited, half term is next week and we dont have a lesson on friday, we have to come in on monday for an extra filming day. Hopefully we should be able to start some of the editing on monday aswell :)

Thriller Filming Day 2&3

Day 2: On tuesday college was closed due to the bad weather conditions. The heavy snow caused pubic transport to be suspended therefore no one could get in to college. No filming or editing could be done today unfortunately!

Day 3: Another unsuccessful day. The room we were using was booked up with another class so we were unable to film. We used the lesson to log our previous filming and watch it over to see if there were any errors we need to correct next time. Hopefully we can get some more filming in next week!!

Thriller Filming Day 1

Today was the first day of filming and it didnt go as we expected, however it wasn't a bad days work. Initially we intended to get a non-media student to be our main character however the person we had in mind was unable to do it for us. At such short notice and because we couldnt afford to loose filming time, we thought the best solution would be to use Antionette - a member of our group. Our second dilema was the room we were meant to be using. on n earlier lesson we asked our teacher to book a room in the library for us to film in but he was unable to get it. We had to improvise using another computer room in college that has a similar layout. The only thing we had to change was a few shots with book shelfs and desks, however i think that the computer room will work better.
On a better note, the filming that we did get one was quiet good. We experimented with alot of shot types and everyone helped to think of the best ways to film. Efosa has been our main camera-man so far but i believe this works well as he is tallest etc. We were unable to film the scene where the girl recieves the email, as we thought it would be simpler to send it annoynomously, but thats okay because it gives us more practise time and more time to research what we need to do.
All in all i think it was quite sucessful.

Thriller Filming Day 5

Today we didn’t have a full group because Ava couldn’t make it; she had to attend a funeral. Well the really wasn’t much too do today but just fix up all of the continuity errors I found. It actually to a while to film everything, because we couldn’t figure out what to do for the last scene, it took a while but we got it done in the end, and it actually came out good. What also slowed us down was trying to reproduced the scenes which had continuity errors, the actor Annie was getting frustrated by having to repeat the same thing over and over again.

In the end, we got everything that we needed done, done so we completed all of the filming today, that’s our millstone. So I guess you’ll have to stay tuned for what’s next up: Thriller Editing Day 1

Thriller Filming Day 2

Today there was no filming or editing done, because of the bad weather. College was closed down because it was snowing and transport was closed, that shows how heavy the rain was. So no filming today but stay tuned for filming day 3

First day of filming

First day of filming

This was the first time we started filming our thriller, it was a very tough day. We had a few problems this was because we couldn't film in the library so we had to film in a computer room. This meant that we lost key shots and we had to rearrange some of the scenes we originally planned but for our thriller to be good it had to be done. One of the shots that we lost was the bookshelf shot which would of taken place in the library. But as a group we knew we had to find the best solution that fitted with our thriller. There are several shots in our plan that we put down as not sure just incase we changed our mind and decided to do something different.
We also couldn't get the main character for our thriller due to the fact that her timetable was different to ours.
So in the end we had to pick one person in our group to volunteer and take the main role. This person was Annie, this made it a lot easier for the group  because we knew we could count on her and when ever we needed her she would be there.

First day of filming

Filming day two and three

Filming Day Two

On Tuesday we did not have no college due to adverse weather conditions so the college was shut for the day. This means that we was not able to come in to college and do any filming. As the result of the snow my group has to now find time to catch up on the time we missed during the lesson.

Filming Day Three

On Friday we could not film because the room we normally use was booked by another class. This meant that we could not film once again so we decided to blog for the duration of the lesson instead. At this moment my group was getting very angry because quality time of filming had been wasted and the deadline was approaching very fast. Also we had only filmed the thriller once so we had a lot to do in a short space of time. There was only one day left to come in and get all the filming done so me and my group decided to take time out and come in.

Filming Day 2+3

Filming Day 2

Due to adverse weathers it wasn't possible for us to come to college because of the snow therefore this has slow our group down a lot with the filming as the college was close.

Day 3
This was also not a good day for us, as the room which we normally film in was taken up by a class , this meant that we could not film once again. My group was getting very aggravated as the deadline was getting closer and closer and we had only filmed once. Our director of the film thought we should take this time to log and capture what we had filmed from day one.

Filming day five

Filming Day five

During the holidays me, Annie and Efosa came in to film the last scene of our thriller. Ava could not make it so we agreed to finish it without her. We managed to finish the last scene and iron out any continuity errors. The main person who took charge of the camera work was me and Efosa.  Annie took part by playing the main character in the thriller. I think the day went really well because we used our free time to come in and complete our media work as the deadline was getting closer.

Thriller Filming Day 4

Today not very much got done because of the time limit we had, also some of our group members were late so that slowed us down as well. What slowed us down the most was the continuity errors I found, which meant we had to re-shoot some scenes, so I had to go check which scenes we had to re-film, which took some time as well and since today we only had 1:45 mins to film in, it was very limited.

We finally got to filming and re-filmed the scenes which was needed to re re-filmed, then we had to complete the last two scenes which we still haven’t done yet, we were actually meant to film one of those scenes today but ended up forgetting to do that. So we have decided to get it all done on Monday, let’s hope we don’t forget anything this time, fingers crossed.

We’ve also come up with various ideas for the last scene which we keep on changing, I guess we have to film all the ideas and see how it goes that's the best way for now because time is limited. So stay tuned for filming day 4, see ya.

Thriller Filming Day 3

Today not very much got done because we couldn’t book the room we needed, so we couldn’t do any filming at all. So we had to spend this day blogging and logging what we had on tape. It was quite upsetting that we didn’t get no filming in as we have so little time to do it in, since we have no college on Friday we have one more filming session to get all the filming in, and there’s also a one day session for us to come in the holiday, to film and edit. So that’s good we have two more filming sessions to get all the filming in. So that’s all the blogging for today stay tuned for filming day 3

First Day Of Filming

We started filming and it was a very fast pacing day. Our group couldnt film in the place which we wanted to film in which was the libary so we had to change the rooms and this ment we lost a couple of key shots we wanted but it had to be done. We also couldnt get the main character we wanted for the film as her timetable conflicted with our group, so i chose to be the main character as it would have been easier than waiting for someone.

Today, was a very fun days as it was the first day, we had a range of shots and as the main character i had to do the same thing over and over again which became very annoying but in the editing it will be good that i had done it. We got many different camera angles and point of views so it brings in the thrilliness about or short film.

We couldnt fulfil all the things we wanted to do today as we needed a email from an unknown address but was not able to set it up from college so someone has to set it up from home. So we would have to film that bit another day.

The day ran smoothly and was really fun, the director of our play help alot as he would not let us go without fulfilling it to our full potential and repeating it just incase we done anything wrong. It was a long day and stressful day but in the end work out to be a good day... :)

Thriller Filming Day 1

Today was a very hectic day, we done a lot of filming using a vast shot of camera angles. Today we had to go and book the library room which ended up not getting, so instead we had to improvise and use a different room similar to the one in the library, and we found the best solution. It mean that we had to lose some camera shots like the bookshelf shot we wanted to include, it’s still in our plan in case we ever do choose to re-film in the library. We also change our main character, as the character we intended to get we couldn’t because they couldn’t fit the hours.

Today we got a lot of the filming in which I am very proud of, everyone contributed to the types of shots we should include, so we started experimenting and created some nice shot angles. There were some shots which we couldn’t get in today because we didn’t have enough of the equipment needed, like the computer scene when the character receives an email, we couldn’t do that because the email hadn’t been made yet. So we have to re-film that on another day, which is a good thing cause we get to see if there are any other kinds of shots we could and should include, it also gives us some more practicing and time to go over what we’ve filmed, to see if there were any continuity errors.

So that’s the wrap of the first day, really pleased of what we done cause I was also directing the film as well. Everyone contributed but not sure if everyone done enough work needed, that’s what we need to improve on, so that's it until filming day 2, see Ya.
