Our task for our pre lim thriller was to create a short clip of certain types of shots and rules, our clips had to have a match cut, shot reverse shot and follow the 180 degree rule, our clip also had to have two main characters having a conversation together.
This was our group second edit so i think that it went really well, as a group we all got along together and completed the task to the best of our ability.
This was our second practice task i think this went really well. This clip worked particularly well as we all had a knowledge of shots which were needed to be done. Our group has grown a lot from the first task to the second task. By doing this we learnt how to use the camera more and learn certain shots, we were also able to understand how to film them the correct way. O have also learnt a new technique such as the 180 degree rule and we would have to keep this in mind when we are actually filming the final one.
In the practice film the best shot that i think we used was the shot reverse shot which we could see each characters facial expression as they held a conversation. I also like the match cut of when the character was at the door and then we see a shot from her coming in the door from the other side this makes the audience able to see from the other side and from inside the room.
The editing of the film went really well but we had a few problems which we overcome easily. We knew when it came to the real thing we couldn't make the same mistakes. The music we added to the short film was a good mix as it created suspense and made the audience tense because they didn't know what was going to happen next.
With the mise- en -scene there was a bit of a problem this was because we was in a classroom and we didnt clear the other students bags and jackets. Next time in the film we would make sure to clear everything so it doesnt get in the way of the real one. Also another problem that occured whilst making the short film was we forgot about the head space rule of how much head space should be in the camera and this was an issue what we could not over come but we will certainly remember.
Overall it was a superb day of filming and i really enjoyed it and had great fun with my group whilst editing.
